I talk about Resilient 3D, planned back in 2013/14.
Here are some facts.
It is a sci-fi/disaster movie.
We would have a great cast. Robert Beltran as Dermont Turner, Jeri Ryan, and Virginia Medsen. Miguel Sandoval, John Diehl.
Writer and Director: Michael Taverna (1)
Doesn't it sound great? Just by reading the cast names? Robert in a leading role?
And this is the story:
It is the year 2052, Earth in her final days. The planet's population has to relocate on Jupiter's moon Europa, and it is Dermot Turner's task to make it happen. The journey has to go from Earth via Mars to Europa. (2)
But there is another more interesting part of the story. Dermont is a theoretical physicist. “Living mostly in his mind and intellect, he perhaps has neglected his wife..." Robert says. (3) He also let us know, “The story is ultimately about overcoming the loss of someone or something that was dearly beloved,” and “Dermot experiences this and yet must rise to a seemingly impossible challenge set before him. It is about the ‘resilience’ required to survive impossible odds. It is not only the personal challenge set before Dermot but all of humanity.” (4) He continued to describe his character: “When he loses the great love of his life, he strives to find a reason to go on. During his struggle, he develops a deeper understanding of the nature of love, and this frees him to confront the task set before him with renewed inspiration.”
There is already a design created for the movie; here are some impressions (5).
Sadly, the project never came to life. It is still listed in the production list of Monte Cristo. It seems they couldn't get the money they needed. The following two pictures are from the Facebook site.: www.facebook.com/Resilient3DTheMovie

Thoughts:
Resilient would be such an incredible movie. Just by reading the press kit, seeing the first images of production ideas, and hearing Robert talking about his character. His description of Turner makes him an interesting person. He was lost in his own world of thoughts, forgetting the most important person in his life until he lost her. How he suffered from the loss, which strategies he found to survive, handle his pain, and maybe grow and find a new reason to live, a mission, and maybe a partner.
I also see flashbacks how his life was at the beginning when he was young and met his future wife.
I, for myself, can imagine the scenes clearly. It would have been a movie filled with all we need. Action, drama, love, something to learn, and think about.
There is one thing I really don't 'like. The movie poster.
I am sorry to ask, but what is wrong with you creating it that way? - Hello?
The star of the movie is Robert Beltran, and you come around with that picture?
I don't know where to start.
You have an attractive cast. Do I have to say more?
In the picture above in front of Robert, you can see the original movie poster.
I had to change it. I would like to see something like this - my idea:

Last words go to Robert, an interview with TrekToday:
TrekToday to Mr. Beltran: “What attracted you to this project?”
Mr. Beltran: “Well it always begins with the script, the story, and this is the best script that I’ve had the privilege of being associated with. It’s a great script, and the fact that I’ve worked with [Director] Michael Taverna before and we have a good working relationship, that’s the initial attraction for me.”
TrekToday: “Who is Dermot Turner? What makes him tick?”
Mr. Beltran: “Dermot Turner is a Theoretical Physicist, I can say that probably three times a day and that’s all! No, a Theoretical Physicist, which means he’s employed in dealing with issues of interplanetary, cosmological, galactic science…He has a special mission that is handed to him, that he may or may not be capable of achieving and it causes him great, great distress. What makes him ‘tick’ really is a love for humanity, basically.’
TrekToday: “Do you believe that we could end up in a future where humanity is in peril due to climate change? Why or why not?
Mr. Beltran: “Yes. Of course we could, on several levels. We have evidence of global warming, which could only get worse and worse. Also, if there was some kind of political military catastrophe, like someone shooting off some nuclear arms, we would be facing a kind of nuclear winter for years where it would be very hard to grow anything and live. So it’s very possible on several levels, and I just hope that we’re never confronted with that.”
TrekToday: “What do you want viewers to take away from Resilient 3D?”
Mr. Beltran: “Well I would hope that they would take away the fact that us human beings are resilient. We have brains, we have creativity, we have a mind that can overcome any challenges, I believe. I would hope that people would have less fear about the future and be more optimistic.”(6)
